Thanks for this ministry. I attending the same funeral for this young boy and even though he was only 11 years old the church was packed. His short life impacted so many lives. When we think about the people we touch. The number of teams we particiapate in, baseball, football, cheerleading and so on. The number of classmates we have during a life time. The number of jobs we have as we get older. Our children, grandchildren and extended family the number just mushrooms and so does the mission field. Our community is enormise, we must begin to think about "OUR Community".

No one thought, one 11 year old could touch a large church full but he did with relationships. Relationships much like Christ did when he walked on this earth. Love, kindness, friendship, caring, helping, concern for the wellbeing of everyone he met. If we are to be Christians, (Christ-like) then we must show those same kinds of feeling Christ did.

I was always told it takes 21 days to make a habit. I read an article yesterday that said it actually takes 65 days to make a habit or change for good in your life. I'm going to go with the middle and use your '40 days of Community' as my habit change of life. I am challenging everyone who reads this blog to start today with their "40 days of community" and start changing the lives around you.

We never know when our time on this earth if up. What will your legacy be? Will it be he touched so many in the community by showing God's love through everything he did and said. What will God say to you? Will He say, "Well done My good and faithfuly servant." I hope so!!

It is a sad testimony to hear of some great donominations turning their back on the foundational truths that had once defined them. There is such a strong pull for people of faith to be politically correct that they are willing to forsake truth. I have read with amazement as the Presbyterian Church as followed in the footsteps of other donominations in the decision concerning the homosexual community. Maybe the Presbyterian Church needs an Esther who will answer the call "for such a time as this..." (Esther 4:14) to see the Word reestablished in the pulpits and the pews.

Hey Jeffery:

I've noticed the same indifference or maybe I should say total rejection of the Bible by my own Presbyterian denomination. With the ordination of Gays and Lesbians as clergy, our leadership has turned its back on the Bible and has made a mockery of our particular brand of religion. It's not going unnoticed by God and in the end, His will, will be done. I have serious reservations about staying in the Presbyterian Church and I am praying for God to help me sort it all out. Currently, He is letting me stew in my own juice and it is really tough to come to grips with the situation and turning and running from this craziness may or may not be the thing God wants me to do. Freud said I can either fight or flee the situation. My first reaction is that I want to fight and take back my denomination. My second reaction is why have the elders and leaders of my Church taken this path in the first place? Maybe it's time to clean house and restore leadership that actually believes the written word of God. My horror is that I will not be able to find enough believers that feel as I do. Through all of this, I still have my God and I still have my faith and maybe organized religion is forcing me to a fork in the road in my own life. This I know, God will not let me fall through the cracks but He will test my faith and belief in Him. I'm from the old school and I still put all of my trust, hope, faith and love in Jesus Christ who gave His all for my salvation on that cross on Golgotha. I don't need the leadership of the Presbyterian Church but I most certainly do need God. Amos is still right after all of the interceding centuries. Mankind can do what ever they want but God is watching and everyone will have to answer one day to the God of the Universe and trust me Jeffery.... It will not be pleasant!!

Your bother in Christ.
